This ULDB
rocket is designed to be an inexpensive
go-fast day racer, capable of leaving the competition in the dust. The
2XS-8800
is targeted at inshore round-the-buoys racing and promises to provide a
whole
lot of excitement for the people who sail them.
The
construction of the 2XS-8800 is e-glass and Core
Cell foam core in a vinyl ester or epoxy resin.The boat has a carbon mast, boom and
bowsprit. The highly roached
main, non-overlapping jib, and an asymmetric spinnaker provide all the
horsepower this boat needs, both upwind and down.Handling is made relatively easy with
the simplified deck
hardware package.
With the aid of
the lifting “T” keel, transom-hung
rudder, unique drop rig configuration, and a center point lifting
arrangement,
the 2XS-8800 can be set up and launched in under 30 minutes.In addition, the
8’2” beam and light
displacement make for a hassle free trailering package.
